The Other Napoléon
This historical novel shows a new side to these momentous years, focussing on people not battles.
The brief chapters on the First Empire give the reader an understanding of the Napoleonic Myth and the family entanglements.
The central chapters deal with the characters’ adventures in exile between the end of the First Empire and the extraordinary election of Prince Louis Napoleon as the first President of France, having been forced to live outside France for 33 years.
It is only then that the real action starts as the new Emperor of the French works hard to make up for the lost years of the restoration kings, changing France for ever and finishing the work of his Uncle the first Emperor of the French. He will recreate Paris, introduce modern banking commerce, initiate a friendship with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and much more.
Enjoy the journey!
